MS Dhoni pulls a prank on a photographer

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in a jovial mood on Friday ahead of India’s World Cup match against UAE as he had some fun at a photo journalist’s expense. The photographer teased Dhoni that he doesn’t pose for pictures nowadays as compared to when he made his debut when he used to be quite willing to strike a pose for the camera.

At a net session where Dhoni was padding up, the photographer said, “Mahi, you are not the same person you used to be in 2004-05. You used to give poses for such amazing compositions.”

However, Dhoni came back with a quite quirky remark as he said, “Ah, don’t lie. You didn’t know me in 2004 at all and you are talking about posing for photographs.”

The man with the camera refreshed his memory and reminded Dhoni that he was at the time he made his debut. He said, “I was there in Bangladesh during your debut series.”

Dhoni, then, put on his poker face and confused the photographer when he said, “Who told you that I made my debut against Bangladesh? You don’t even know.”

The Indian captain had actually made his debut against Bangladesh, but he tried to pull a fast one on the poor reporter, who fell for it and asked, “Then was it in Zimbabwe that you made your debut?”

To this, Dhoni, amidst a sea of laughter from everyone present, remarked, “Dekha isliye journalists ka koi bharosa nahin (see, that’s why nobody believes journalists).”

India face UAE in their 3rd match at the ICC Cricket World Cup on Saturday, 12 pm IST.
