Indian skipper MS Dhoni, and one of the players apparently accused in the IPL spot fixing scandal, has moved the Madras high court claiming damages worth a staggering Rs 100-crore from Zee group for tarnishing his reputation on national television without any proven evidence.
On Tuesday, the 32-year old also won an interim court order, which restrains the Zee group from airing interviews or news relating to certain match-fixing allegations against him.
Having denied any involvement in unlawful activities, Dhoni has filed the suit arguing that his hard-earned international reputation was at stake and his name, without any substantial proof is being degraded.
The 2011 World Cup winner confirmed the suit on Tuesday. A single judge of the Madras high court found Dhoni’s claims legitimate, issuing a restraining order on Zee group channels from telecasting any interview or discussion on Dhoni and the alleged scandal.
