2024 T20 World Cup Points Table: Updated standings after Bangladesh vs Netherlands match

Bangladesh retained the second position in the 2024 T20 World Cup points table for Group D after a 25-run victory against the Netherlands. The Tigers now have four points from three matches, and a win in their last group stage match against Nepal will guarantee them a place in the Super 8s.

The Netherlands had a golden chance to rise from third to second position in the 2024 T20 World Cup points table for Group D, but they failed to chase down a 160-run target in Kingstown. Courtesy of the defeat, the Dutch team remain in third spot. Their chances of qualifying for the Super 8s have reduced significantly after the loss against Bangladesh.

After the Bangladesh vs Netherlands match, Bangladesh's net run rate stands at +0.478, whereas the Netherlands have a net run rate of -0.408. Sri Lanka were eliminated from the tournament as Bangladesh beat the Netherlands.

The Group B match between England and Oman has started in North Sound, where the defending champions have reduced their lower-ranked opponents to 25/4 in the seventh over. England have not won a single game in the T20 World Cup 2024 so far, but they still have a chance of qualifying for the Super 8s.

For that, England need big wins against Oman and Namibia and hope for Australia to beat Scotland. England have started well in North Sound, and it seems likely that they will crush Oman. If the defending champions win this game, they will move up from fourth to third position in the 2024 T20 World Cup points table for Group B.

Meanwhile, Oman have already been eliminated from the tournament. They can spoil England's chances if they make a comeback in North Sound.
