Bizarre scenes as batter run out after throw hits the stumps at both ends in Maharashtra Premier League 2025 match [Watch]

During a Maharashtra Premier League 2025 match between Raigad Royals and Puneri Bappa, a bizarre scene occurred involving a hilarious run-out. The game was played on Saturday, June 7, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

While Raigad Royals were batting, opener Harsh Mogaveera was run out bizarrely as the throw hit the stumps at both ends. The wicket-keeper, who ran after the ball, collected it and with perfect aim, threw it on the stumps at the strikers' end. The ball hit the stumps but the batter at the strikers' end was already inside the crease.

However, after hitting the stumps at the strikers' end, the ball did not stop but ricocheted towards the non-strikers' end and hit the stumps, resulting in the dismissal of Harsh Mogaveera, who was at the non-strikers' end.

Out of the many ways of dismissals, this was one of the most hilarious ones ever seen in cricket across leagues around the globe.

Raigad Royals collapse as Puneri Bappa register big win in Maharashtra Premier League 2025 match

Puneri Bappa, batting first in the Maharashtra Premier League 2025, posted a huge total of 202/4 from their 20 overs. Yash Nahar (82) and Rushikesh Sonawane (58) scored half-centuries while Suraj Shinde remained unbeaten on 40 off just 12 deliveries.

Chasing a huge total, Raigad Royals lost an early wicket following the bizarre run-out in the very first over of their innings. The loss of an early wicket triggered a collapse as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were nowhere in the chase.

They were eventually bundled out for just 103 runs in 13.1 overs, failing to even complete their quota of 20 overs. Nikit Dhumal stood out with a five-wicket haul, returning with figures of 5/39 from four overs as Puneri Bappa registered a massive 99-run win in the end.

With two wins from as many games so far, Puneri Bappa now have four points and are placed second on the Maharashtra Premier League 2025 points table.
