Two Delhi Premier League 2024 matches were played on Tuesday, August 20, in Delhi. In the first match of the double-header, East Delhi Riders chased down Purani Dilli-6’s 142/8 with two overs and five wickets to spare.
Mayank Gusain and unbeaten Yug Gupta scored valiant 30s for Purani Dilli-6 after they had slipped to 63/7 at one stage. Simarjeet Singh (3/28), Mayank Rawat (2/15) hogged the limelight with the ball for the Riders by claiming five wickets between them. In the second innings, Rawat clobbered a 27-ball 55* to seal Riders’ successful chase in an 18-over game.
Later in the evening, Central Delhi Kings batted first and scored 176/7 in 20 overs off the back of half-centuries from Yash Dhull and Dhruv Kaushik. Harish Dagar made 23 off 10 during the slog overs to counter Kuldip Yadav (2/37) and Kunwar Bidhuri (1/21). South Delhi Superstarz reached the 177-run target with six wickets and five balls in hand.
Opening batter Priyansh Arya led the charge with a counterattacking 51-ball 82. Captain Badoni, Vision Panchal, and Dhruv Singh also added handy runs to pull off a stunning chase for their team.
Delhi Premier League 2024 Most Runs List
South Delhi Superstarz opener Priyansh Arya (139 runs) and Central Delhi Kings’ Dhruv Kaushik (119 runs) are the only two batters to have tallied over 100 runs in the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2024 season. Ayush Badoni with 99 runs and Vaibhav Kandpal with 89 runs have emerged as the third and fourth most successful batters of the season so far.
Yash Dhull has amassed 76 runs from two innings to be ranked fifth on the batting table. Yash Bhatia and Jonty Sidhu, with 71 runs each, occupy the next two slots on the top 10 charts. Arpit Rana (69 runs), Yash Dabas (66 runs) and Vansh Bedi (56 runs) round up the list by occupying the final three positions.
Delhi Premier League 2024 Most Wickets List
Simarjeet Singh has taken five wickets from two innings to be ranked at the top of the wicket-taking leaderboard of the Delhi Premier League 2024 season. Akhil Chaudhary, Yatish Singh, and Shivam Sharma have claimed four wickets to occupy the next three positions on the top 10 charts, in that order, owing to varying economy rates.
Harsh Tyagi, with three wickets, is ranked fifth on the table and is followed by East Delhi teammate Himanshu Chauhan with as many wickets. Prince Yadav and Suyash Sharma have also taken three wickets each to be ranked seventh and eighth on the bowling table. Central Delhi Kings' Money Grewal and Rajneesh Dadar occupy the final two positions on the top 10 charts, also with three wickets each.
