England vs India 2018

3 Jul 2018 - 11 Sep 2018

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to tour England and play against them in all formats of the game beginning from 3rd July 2018. The entire tour comprises of three T20Is, three ODIs and five Test matches.

The series

The tour starts off with the T20I series as the sides face each at Old Trafford on 3rd July 2018. From Manchester, the sides travel to Cardiff to meet each other at the Sophia Gardens on 6th July. The final T20I is scheduled to take place on 8th July at Bristol.

The sides will then participate in the ODI series beginning from 12th July at Trent Bridge. The 2nd ODI of the series will take place at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on 14th July. The Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds hosts the final ODI on 17th July.

The Indian team will play in a warm-up game against Essex at Chelmsford from 25th to 28th July before the Test series gets underway.

The Test series begins at Edgbaston in Birmingham from 1st August to 5th August. The teams return to the Lord’s to play the second test match from August 9-13. The third test match is scheduled to take place at Trent Bridge from August 18-22. The teams then move to Southampton to play the penultimate test match at The Rose Bowl from 30th August to 3rd September. The Kennington Oval in London hosts the final test match of the series which takes place from September 7-11.

The Indian team decided to play the limited overs games before the Test matches. This was done so that the team gets used to the conditions before the first Test match went underway.

Form Guide

The Indian players will be on their way to British Isles after winning the historic Test match against Afghanistan inside two days. It was an impressive outing for them and the margin of victory was a record for the Indian side. Before playing against England, India will play Ireland for a couple of T20Is in Dublin.

England on the other hand, are currently involved in an ODI series against Australia. Two of the five ODI games of the series have been played and England have won both of them. They won the second one without captain Eoin Morgan.
