Kerala Cricket League 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after Calicut Globstars vs Trivandrum Royals, Match 10

Aries Kollam Sailors and Alleppey Ripples squared off in the ninth match of the Kerala Cricket League 2024 on Friday, September 6. Calicut Globstars and Trivandrum Royals locked horns in the day's second game.

Aries Kollam Sailors won their third game in a row and maintained the top position in the Kerala Cricket League 2024 points table with a net run rate (NRR) of 1.561.

Despite losing their previous game against the Sailors, Alleppey Ripples still hold the second position with a negative NRR of -0.873.

Trivandrum Royals jumped from sixth to third with two wins and as many losses. Meanwhile, Kochi Blue Tigers slipped to fourth, Thrissur Titans retained fifth, and Calicut Globstars dropped to sixth with just one win in three games.

Aries Kollam Sailors win three straight games; Trivandrum Royals jump to third

Aries Kollam Sailors won the toss and opted to bowl first. The bundled Alleppey Ripples out to 95/10 in 16.3 overs thanks to Sharafuddeen N M’s four-fer, Biju Narayanan’s three-wicket haul, two wickets from NP Basil, and one from Sudhesan Midhun. Mohammed Azharuddeen top-scored 29 followed by Akshay Chandran (16) and Alfi Francis (10) while the rest of the Alleppey batters registered single-digit scores.

In reply, Sailors skipper Sachin Baby smashed a match-winning 30-ball 40-run knock while Arun Poulose and Vathsal Govind scored 22 and 18 runs, respectively. Afrad Reshab and Akshay Chandran took one wicket each for the Ripples.

Salman Nizar’s 72 helped Calicut Globstars set a modest 145-run target in the following game. Sreehari Nair picked up two wickets while Vinil T S and MS Akhil took one for the Trivandrum Royals.

In response, Riya Basheer (38), Govind Pai (35), and Abdul Basith, who hammered an impressive 22-ball 50-run unbeaten knock, guided the Royals to a comfortable five-wicket win.
