South African captain Temba Bavuma celebrated with his son on the ground after lifting the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) mace on Saturday, June 14. His team beat Australia by five wickets in the summit clash at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London.
Apart from leading the team astutely, Bavuma played crucial knocks of 36 (84) and 66 (134) in both innings of the final. Star pacer Kagiso Rabada stepped up with the ball in the crunch game by picking up nine wickets to set the platform for the Proteas side.
After a duck in the first innings, Aiden Markram (136) played arguably the best knock in his international career to help South Africa chase 282 against a high-quality Australian bowling attack under pressure.
After the presentation ceremony, Temba Bavuma was spotted taking a lap around the Lord's with his one-year-old son, celebrating with the WTC mace.
ICC gave a glimpse of the heartfelt moment to the fans by sharing a video on their official Instagram handle.

"It's been a special couple of days!"- Temba Bavuma after winning against Australia in the 2025 WTC final
At the post-match presentation after the WTC final, Temba Bavuma expressed gratitude for fans' support during the Test and expressed pride in his team's performance. Reflecting on the victory, he said:
"It's been a special couple of days! All the support from back home and here has paid off. We have been able to silence the doubters and put together a special performance! Hopefully, it is going to sink in a couple of days. The energy was certainly there and we did not give in at any stage. There have been heartaches in the past, but, the sun is on us at the moment, and we need to ride that momentum.
"Kagiso Rabada is a massive player. Aiden Markram was unbelievable! He showed character, and he came out in the second innings to bat in true Aiden fashion! Character is the word for him. Us as a team, we got ourselves in the final. There were questions asked, but, here was an opportunity for us to make that proved wrong. Chance now for us to celebrate this win with our country," Bavuma continued.
It is the first ICC trophy triumph for South Africa after a wait of 27 years.
