Lyca Kovai Kings won the 15th encounter of the 2024 Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) against the Trichy Grand Cholas at the SNR College Cricket Ground, Coimbatore on July 16.
The Lyca Kovai Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first against the Trichy Grand Cholas. The decision to bowl first paid instant dividends as they restricted Trichy to a mere 124/9 in 20 overs. R Sanjay Yadav (34 off 27) and Jafar Jamal (41* off 28) top scored for Trichy. Meanwhile, the bowling duo of skipper Shahrukh Khan and M Mohammed shared six wickets between them.
In reply, the chase was a walk in the park for the Lyca Kovai Kings batters. S Sujay (48* off 39) and U Mukilesh (63*) off 54 ensured their side a comfortable eight-wicket victory over the Trichy Grand Cholas.

R Sanjay Yadav is atop the TNPL 2024 highest run-getters chart after four matches. Sanjay has scored a total of 186 runs in four innings, with an average of 62 and the highest score of 68. Sachin B occupies second place with 169 runs in three innings, batting at a strike rate of 135.20.
Narayan Jagadeesan is in the third position with 149 runs in four matches. R Kavin and HI Waseem Ahmed round off the top five list with totals of 145 and 115 runs, respectively. R. Kavin is in fourth place with an SR of 142.16, while Waseem Ahmed is in fifth place with a batting average of 57.50.
Pradosh Ranjan Paul is sixth on the leaderboards with 107 runs, while U Mukilesh, with 107 runs too, is seventh. Tushar Raheja, G. Ajitesh, and Baba Aparajith have scored 104, 104, and 102 runs, respectively, and occupy the eighth, ninth, and 10th positions.
TNPL 2024 Most Wickets List
Shahrukh Khan is the highest wicket-taker so far in the tournament. He has claimed eight wickets in four innings at a bowling average of 9.63 and an economy rate of 5.13. He is in the first spot. Sharukh’s teammate, M Mohammed, has taken eight wickets this season, and he is in the second position.
K. Easwaran, Murugan Ashwin, Abhishek Tanwar, and M. Poiyamozhi have taken seven wickets each, and they see themselves in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth positions, respectively. Ramsingh Sonu Yadav of the Nellai Royal Kings is in seventh place with six wickets. Ganeshan Periyaswamy is eighth on the highest wicket-takers list with a tally of six wickets.
Periyaswamy has claimed six wickets in four innings so far in the tournament. He has also been super economical throughout this season, with an economy rate of 6.50. V Athisayaraj Davidson and S Mohamed Ali have taken six wickets this season, and they occupy the ninth and 10th spots, respectively.
