Former Indian batter Virender Sehwag picked current skipper Rohit Sharma over former captains MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in the popular 'This or That' challenge. On the sidelines of the Delhi Premier League T20, several cricketers' names were thrown at Sehwag in the challenge, starting with a clash between MS Dhoni and Ben Stokes.
Sehwag had no hesitation in picking Dhoni in that battle but went for former South Africa captain AB de Villiers over Dhoni. De Villiers' time at the top was short-lived as Sehwag picked Kohli over him in the next round.
The former Indian opener picked Virat Kohli over current Aussie skipper Pat Cummins but went with Rohit Sharma in the 'Virat or Rohit' battle. Sehwag picked Rohit over the final two players David Warner and Dale Steyn, leaving him as the ultimate winner of the challenge.
Here is the video of Sehwag's rapid responses in the 'This or That' challenge:
Sehwag has played with all three of Dhoni, Kohli, and Rohit, and won World Cups with them.
Dhoni was the captain of the Indian side that triumphed in the 2007 T20 and 2011 ODI World Cups, with Sehwag playing a massive role in both. Rohit was part of the 2007 title run, while Kohli featured in the 2011 50-over World Cup.
Rohit Sharma recently led India to second T20 World Cup title
Rohit Sharma recently captained India to their second T20 World Cup title in the West Indies and USA. After coming up short in the 2023 World Test Championship and ODI World Cup finals, the Men in Blue won the tournament without losing a single game, with the skipper leading the way with the bat and on the field.
The 37-year-old finished as India's leading run-scorer and the tournament's second with 257 runs in eight games.
Following the triumph, Rohit Sharma announced his T20I retirement along with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. Rohit was recently part of India's disastrous 0-2 ODI series defeat in Sri Lanka.
He will be back to lead India in the upcoming two-Test home series against Bangladesh, starting in Chennai on September 19.
