The 22nd contest of the Women's Super Smash 2023-24 between Wellington Blaze and Central Hinds ended in a thrilling tie. Basin Reserve in Wellington hosted this encounter.

After winning the toss, Wellington Blaze opted to bat first. Opener Rebecca Burns (2) lost her wicket quite early in the innings. Keeper-batter Jessica McFayden (19), Amelia Kerr (26), and Georgia Plimmer (41) added crucial runs in the middle overs.

With the wicket turning out to be a two-paced, middle and lower middle-order batters failed to create a significant impact. Rosemary Mair scalped two wickets, conceding 19 runs in her four-over spell. Hannah Rowe and Claudia Green picked up one wicket apiece.

In the chase, Amelia Kerr wreaked havoc as she scalped a brilliant fifer to shun the opposition's run-scoring rate. However, Hollie Armitage top-scored with 33 runs from 25 balls, featuring five fours. In the middle-order, Hannah Rowe (17) and Mikaela Greig (17) forged important runs.

The lower middle order faltered badly as they got bundled out for 109 runs 19 overs to settle for a tie. Xara Jetly and Leigh Kasperek picked up two wickets each with Natasha Codyre claiming a wicket.

Otago Sparks skipper Suzie Bates continues to lead the batting charts with 328 runs from seven innings. Wellington skipper Amelia Kerr retained her second rank with 281 runs from seven innings.

Hinds opener Hollie Armitage moved up from sixth to third rank, amassing 177 runs. Kate Anderson (177) and Frances Mackay (172) slipped one spot each to secure the fourth and fifth ranks.

Wellington batter Georgia Plimmer climbed up from ninth to sixth rank, accumulating 167 runs. Auckland batter Maddy Green slid from fifth to seventh rank, racking up 165 runs. Hannah Rowe (146) retained her eighth position at an average of 36.50.

Otago skipper Bella James descended from seventh to ninth slot, amassing 134 runs. Wellington Blaze batter Jessica McFadyen propelled from 12th to 10th position, scoring 114 runs.

Wellington's Xara Jetly propelled from ninth to fifth spot, scalping nine wickets. Poppy Jay Watkins (8) maintained her sixth position at an average of 9.75. Emma Black (8) descended from the fifth to the seventh slot, averaging 19.13.

Gabby Sullivan (8) and Marama Downes (7) glided down one position apiece to occupy the eighth and ninth slots at 20.88 and 15.29. Lea Tahuhu (7) retained her 10th spot in the rankings, averaging 18.14.
