Bangladesh locked horns with South Africa in the 16th match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai hosted the clash on Saturday, October 12.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. The Bangladeshi opener Dilara Akter was dismissed on the second ball of the innings. However, Shathi Rani (19) and Sobhana Mostary built a 35-run partnership for the second wicket. Later, Mostary’s 38 and skipper Nigar Sultana’s 32 helped them set a mere 107-run target for three wickets. Annerie Dercksen, Nonkululeko Mlaba, and Marizanne Kapp chipped in one wicket each for South Africa.
In reply, Laura Wolvaardt (7), Tazmin Brits (42), and Anneke Bosch (25) gave a fine start to their side. As the game progressed, Marizanne Kapp (13) and Chloe Tryon (14) completed the chase in 17.2 overs. Fahima Khatun picked up two wickets for Bangladesh.

Nonkululeko Mlaba retained her top spot in the most wickets leaderboard with ninth wickets to her name. Megan Schutt, Amelia Kerr, and Arundhati Reddy hold the next three positions with seven wickets each.
Rosemary Mair slipped to fifth with six wickets. Similarly, the Australian trio of Annabel Sutherland, Sophie Molineux, and Ashleigh Gardner descended to the sixth, seventh, and eighth spots, respectively with five wickets each.
Sadia Iqbal and Ritu Moni are ranked ninth and 10th, respectively, with five wickets in their account.
