Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Most Runs after Bangladesh vs South Africa

Bangladesh locked horns with South Africa in the 16th match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai hosted the clash on Saturday, October 12.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. The Bangladeshi opener Dilara Akter was dismissed on the second ball of the innings. However, Shathi Rani (19) and Sobhana Mostary built a 35-run partnership for the second wicket. Later, Mostary’s 38 and skipper Nigar Sultana’s 32 helped them set a mere 107-run target for three wickets. Annerie Dercksen, Nonkululeko Mlaba, and Marizanne Kapp chipped in one wicket each for South Africa.

In reply, Laura Wolvaardt (7), Tazmin Brits (42), and Anneke Bosch (25) gave a fine start to their side. As the game progressed, Marizanne Kapp (13) and Chloe Tryon (14) completed the chase in 17.2 overs. Fahima Khatun picked up two wickets for Bangladesh.

The South African duo of Tazmin Brits (155) and Laura Wolvaardt (148) are still in the top two positions. Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi duo of Sobhana Mostary (134) and Nigar Sultana (104) jumped to third and fourth position, respectively. Beth Mooney dropped to fifth spot with 98 runs.

Similarly, Harmanpreet Kaur (96), Georgia Plimmer (91), and Danni Wyatt (84) slipped to the next three spots, respectively. Sophie Devine and Shafali Verma complete the top 10 leaderboard with 77 runs each.
