Rohit Sharma played a captain's knock in the final to hold the innings together. His innings was filled with silken strokes and effortless sixes. He started aggressively, taking a particular liking to the spinners.
He played a calm and calculated innings of 56. India lost two quick wickets in the early part of the chase but he forged critical partnerships with Rahul and Pandey to strengthen India's grip on the final.
