PSL 2019: Interesting Numbers
The 4th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will commence on 14th February 2019. The tournament will have a total of 34 matches and will end on 17th March 2019. The tournament will take place in a double Round Robin fashion with Playoffs to find the winner. There are six teams - Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators - who will fight for the coveted trophy.
The tournament will start at UAE and will move to Pakistan for the last eight games. Karachi is set to host the finals on 17th March.
Here we will take a look at some of the interesting numbers of this PSL:
929 - Runs accumulated by Kamran Akmal in the tournament history. He is the leading scorer in the tournament scoring these runs from 34 matches.
435 - Most runs in a season - Luke Ronchi in 2018.
117 - Highest individual score in the tournament history. Sharjeel Khan scored these runs for Islamabad United against Zalmi on 21st February 2016.
8 - 50+ scores by Kamran Akmal in the tournament history. He is leading the tally followed by Babar Azam with six 50+ scores.
5 - Most ducks in PSL history. Kamran Akmal, again, leads the chart with five ducks from his 33 innings.
49 - Most sixes in PSL history. Kamran Akmal has his 49 sixes in the three seasons he has played.
48 - No. of wickets taken by Wahab Riaz. He is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament history.
6 - Wickets were taken by Ravi Bopara and Umar Gul in a single inning. While Ravi Bopara's figure reads 6/16, Umar Gul's reads as 6/24. The England all-rounder holds the best figure in the tournament history.
6.22 - Best economy rate in PSL. Sunil Narine holds this record playing two seasons and bowling 66 overs.
13.3 - Best Strike-rate in PSL. Andre Russell holds this record having claimed 20 wickets from 44 overs.
57 - Most runs conceded in an innings in the tournament history - Anwar Ali holds this record.
2 - Most 4-wicket hauls in the tournament history - Grant Elliot.
3 - Hat-tricks in the tournament history. Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan, and Imran Tahir took one Hat-trick each.
203/8 - Highest score by a team in the tournament history. Quetta Gladiators scored this against Lahore Qalandars in 2016.
59 - Lowest score by a team in the tournament history. Lahore Qalandars scored this in a match against Peshawar Zalmi in 2017.
20 - Most Wins in the tournament history.- Islamabad united.
18 - Most defeats in the tournament history - Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.
Batting Records in PSL 2018
435 - Runs scored by Luke Ronchi in the last year's tournament. He is the leading scorer in PSL 2018 scoring runs at an average of 43.50.
107* - Highest individual score in PSL 2018 - scored by Kamran Akmal for Zalmi against Qalandars.
28 - Most sixes in PSL 2018 - hit by Kamran Akmal.
188 - Highest team score of PSL 2018. Karachi Kings scored against Multan Sultans.
