Rameez Raja was criticised by Twitter users during the final

The former Pakistani cricketer Rameez Raja has once again come into the Twitter spotlight during the second innings of the yesterday’s final between India and Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka.

Rameez Raja, the former Pakistani opening batsman who has stacked up over 8,000 runs in international cricket is better known for his eloquent skills being one of the most famous commentators across the cricketing globe.

But, as we know, ‘to err is human.’

While chasing the Bangladeshi total of 120 yesterday, Shikhar Dhawan played a shot towards fine leg. The ball was chased down by Taskin Ahmed and he managed to pull back from the boundary line only after pushing the rope during his valiant effort.

Though it was later adjusted to be a boundary, Rameez had a different opinion about it. According to him, since Taskin pushed the boundary line unintentionally, India shouldn’t have been awarded four runs. The rule, though, says otherwise.

And that is when the Twitterati took the matter in their hands as the cricketing fans from all across the globe started trolling the commentator.

We bring you some of the funniest tweets that have surfaced:

Indian cricket fans also didn’t take kindly to Rameez Raja comparing Dhawan to Shahid Afridi during the match.
