The maestro, who is an Olympic Association goodwill ambassador will meet the Indian contingent to encourage them prior to the Olympics. The Rio Olympics will kick off on 5th August and the Indian contingent will be looking forward to meeting the legend. The experience of the ‘Master Blaster’ will come in handy for all the members of the Indian contingent.
Tendulkar also attended a government hospital in Mumbai to get a yellow fever vaccination which is mandatory for a country like Brazil. Sachin is expected to be reasonably fit and fly to Rio on the expected date. He was recuperating from a recent knee surgery he underwent in London.
Sachin who played 200 Tests for India will be eager to visit Brazil and cheer for the Indians which would also be his first visit to any Olympics Games.
“This will be Tendulkar’s first visit to the Olympics games. He would be leaving for Rio de Janeiro on 2 August, during his visit he would also be meeting the Indian contingent to wish them well for the games,” a source close to Tendulkar told Indian Express.
Tendulkar who retired from international cricket in the year 2013, has been enjoying his life away from cricket. In his farewell interview, he had mentioned that he would like to spend the rest of his life with his kids as he had not been able to spend quality time with them during his illustrious career.
For 24 long years, the man had kept the hopes of 1 million Indians intact. Sachin Tendulkar has been synonymous with courage, conviction and humility. People from each and every profession have been influenced by the little man in some way or the other, so the Indian contingent will be eagerly waiting for his advice prior to the main event.
