Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma part ways [Rumours]

The most talked-about romance between cricket and Bollywood – the union of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma – seems to have hit a rough patch, according to reports circulating in the social media. What set about the mills running is the fact that Kohli has unfollowed the actress on Twitter and Instagram.

According to Spotboye, the trouble erupted because the actress had turned down Kohli’s marriage proposal, saying that she wanted to focus on her films instead.

A source has also allegedly said that Kohli had been growing a beard in preparation for the marriage, according to his family's rituals. He had since then cut his beard after his marriage proposal was snubbed.

The source said, ''Anushka’s focus on having her career as the priority till 2017 at least, led to a fight between Virat and her, and they're not on great terms now."

Earlier, rumours had spread that the two were looking at a marriage date in 2016 after they had been spotted with her father house-hunting in Mumbai.

Anushka, however, took strong exception to the alleged rumours and denied that any such plans were being made and added that she would be making the decision public herself, if and when the time comes.

The statement that had been released then had read: "There is no truth to the stories/rumours about Anushka Sharma's impending wedding. Currently, she is busy and happy with her work commitments. She has always been open about her life and would appreciate it and request everyone to wait for her to make announcements about her life instead of speculating."

Anushka had come out with a pubic statement confirming her relationship with Kohli in December 2014.

"We are not hiding anything. We are two normal young people in a relationship." She also said that being gossiped about makes her uncomfortable: "Being public figures, your relationship becomes a topic of entertainment for people, and for me that not comfortable situation. It's something personal and pure for me and I don't want to put it out for someone out there to have a cup of coffee and discuss it. That makes me uncomfortable," she had said.
