Shoaib Akhtar denies media reports of marriage plans to 17-year-old

Shoaib Akhtar has denied the media reports of his marriage to a Pakistan teenager

Ex-Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has rebuffed the media reports of his marriage to a 17-year-old teenager in Pakistan, and called them rumours.

Pakistan’s The Express Tribune had reported earlier that Akhtar was planning to visit his hometown of Rawalpindi on June 12, and his family members had finalised his wedding with 17-year-old Rubab, hailing from Haripur district.

However, the ‘Rawalpindi Express’ denied these reports on twitter, calling for more ‘sensible reporting and not rumour spreading’.

The 39-year-old has been a host on Extraaa Innings during the current IPL season. The report states that Akhtar’s family finalised the marriage with Rubab, who last month appeared in intermediate exams conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Abbottabad.
