The Sri Lankans have yet another daunting task ahead of them. After being humbled in their own backyard by England followed by series losses in New Zealand and Australia, the islanders will now lock horns with Proteas in South Africa. The two teams will battle it out in all three formats of the game in a month-and-half long tour comprising two Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is.
While the home team will take the field with a full-strength squad, the case is a different one for the Lankans. With no Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal, the onus will once lie largely on Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis to manage the depleted reserves (It may be noted that the squads for ODIs and T20Is are yet to be announced).
The tour will be flagged off on 13 February when the teams take on each other in the first Test at Durban.
