Karnataka’s Lokesh Rahul posted the 8th highest score in Ranji Trophy history

Opening batsman from Karnataka, Lokesh Rahul, has had a good start to the year 2015. On January 8th he scored his maiden Test century in only his second Test, and more recently on January 30th, he brought up his maiden triple century in his first class career.

Lokesh Rahul scored 337 runs in 448 balls for Karnataka against Uttar Pradesh at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. It is in fact the first triple century for Karnataka in Ranji Trophy history. Rahul broke the record of Barrington Rowland who had scored 283 runs for Karnataka against Madhya Pradesh, also at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, in 2004/05.
