Stats: Wriddhiman Saha breaks Indian record for most dismissals in a Test

Vernon Philander's six-wicket haul helped South Africa take a 1-0 lead against India after they won the first Test at Cape Town by 72 runs. The loss of Dale Steyn to injury didn't have a major impact as Philander helped the Proteas bowl the visitors out for 135 chasing 208 for victory.

Having begun the day on 65/2, the hosts were bundled out for 130 as the Indian seamers shared the wickets among themselves, after the third day's play was washed out due to persistent rain.

Chasing 208 for victory, India got off to a decent start before Philander swung the game in the Proteas' favour, getting rid of Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli. The dangerous Hardik Pandya was removed by Kagiso Rabada. Although Ravichandran Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar tried their best, the target was a step too far.

Here are some interesting numbers from the fourth day's play:

0 - No Indian keeper has effected more dismissals in a Test than Wriddhiman Saha (10). MS Dhoni held the previous record with nine against Australia at MCG in 2014.

1 - This is the first time that four Indian fast bowlers have picked up at least one wicket in both innings of a Test. This was also the first time in which four Indian pacers picked up at least 3 wickets in the same Test. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya achieved this unique milestone.

2 - South Africa's 130 in the second innings is their second-lowest total against India at home. Their lowest was 84 in 2006.

5 - Jasprit Bumrah became only the fifth to dismiss de Villiers in both innings of a Test in this decade. He joined Stuart Broad, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Johnson and Amit Mishra.

6 - The difference between Cheteshwar Pujara's home (62.97) and away (37.22) Test averages is the sixth-worst in Test history among all batsman with at least 1000 runs.

6 - This was only the sixth time that India have lost seven wickets for under 100 runs in both innings of a Test.

16 - Since January 2011 in Tests outside Asia (excluding WI), India have lost 16 out of 23 Tests, winning just one and drawing 6.

16.54 - Vernon Philander's Test bowling average against India is his best against any country.

17 - AB de Villiers has gotten out to the same bowler twice in a Test 17 times. That is the most for any Proteas batsman, overtaking Mark Boucher's 16.
