Little did we know that he would become one of the most-reliable bowlers for his captain in a very short time. In the 4 matches he has played in this edition, he has bowled 16 overs, conceding 83 runs and picked up 5 wickets at an economy rate of 5.1.
Though he is not a big turner of the ball, his deceptive variations enabled him to emerge as a successful bowler for his side. His best bowling figures of 3-16 helped the Siechem Madurai Panthers beat the Chepauk Super Gillies in the second game of their campaign.
Varun, on the other hand, must be looking to pick up wickets while being able to curtail the run flow which would make it doubly difficult for the opposition batsmen.
