TNPL 2019, iDKK vs TP Preview: Moving day for iDream Karaikudi Kaalai and Tuti Patriots

Dindigul, July 31: iDream Karaikudi Kaalai and Tuti Patriots are sailing in the same boat in the 4th Sankar Cement Tamil Nadu Twenty20 Premier League (TNPL) after four rounds and their battle at the NPR College Ground, Natham, Dindigul on Thursday will decide which team is in a better position to make a bid for the Playoffs.

Both teams have got just two points from four matches with the Patriots a shade ahead in the eight-team standings. They are at the sixth spot on account of a better net run rate (-2.349) followed by iDKK at the seventh spot with an NRR of -2.421.

Since their first match victory against Ruby Trichy Warriors in a tied game that was decided by the Super Over, iDKK have hurtled from one defeat to another. However, they have been boosted by the inclusion of international star Dinesh Karthik and should be looking for a turnaround in fortunes at the NPR College ground.

Tuti Patriots have also struggled with just one victory against Lyca Kovai Kings in the rain-shortened 13-over-a-side game. Since then they have crashed into two big defeats – by 40 runs against Dindigul Dragons and by 58 runs against VB Kanchi Veerans on Tuesday. They will have to dig deep and find a way to be in the reckoning for the top four spot.
