West Indies v England - 3rd Test: Day One

The man who was known as the 'Supercat' was one of the greatest captains to have ever played the game and he turned the West Indies into the most dominant side in world cricket during his reign.

However, what is often forgotten about Lloyd is the fact that he was one of the world's leading batsmen as well, and he remains one of the Guyana's greatest ever players.

Lloyd scored 19 centuries in 110 Tests at an average of 46.67 and played a captain's knock in the 1975 World Cup final when he slammed a 85 balls 102 against Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thomson to win the inaugural global tournament for the West Indies.

For Guyana, he was equally belligerent, and remains one of their best players. In his first-class career, he played a staggering 490 games and scored more than 31000 runs at an average of 49.26, with 79 tons.
