It was a great team effort with everyone coming to the party at different stages of the tournament. Here are 5 players who made a significant impact and who could be called up to play for India soon.

The Punjab-born lad was the find of the tournament. Gill's scores in the tournament read 63, 90*, 86, 102* and 31 which aggregate to 372 at 124 runs apiece. Cricket experts saw glimpses of Virat Kohli in this player, who is regarded highly.

Gill has already made his first-class debut for Punjab. India's U-19 star was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders for 1.8 crores at the IPL auction. Considering the talent and the audacity that Gill possesses, his maiden national call-up might not be far away.

#4 Kamlesh Nagarkoti

England U19's v India U19's - 5th ODI

The 18-year-old Rajasthan-based quick rattled opposition batsmen in the U-19 tournament with his brutal pace. Nagarkoti has shown that he has got the ability to clock bowling speeds in excess of 140 kph.

He picked up 9 wickets in the tournament at an economy rate of 3.49. He made his List-A debut for Rajasthan in 2017 and became first Rajasthan bowler to pick up a hat-trick in List-A cricket. Nagarkoti grabbed the eyes of the Kolkata Knight Riders at the auction, and the team spent 3.2 crores on him. A robust fast-bowler is someone India are always looking for, and hence Nagarkoti is a name that selectors could consider very soon.

#3 Anukul Roy

The left arm off-spinner from Jharkhand proved to be a vital cog for the Indian team during their 2018 U-19 World Cup campaign. He emerged as the joint leading wicket-taker of the tournament with Qais Ahmad (Afghanistan) and Faisal Jamkhandi (Canada), with 14 wickets from 6 games.

In the semi-final against Pakistan, he also showed he can be a handy lower-order batsman with his 33 off 45 balls. Anukul has been picked by the Mumbai Indians at the IPL auction for 20 lakhs.

#2 Manjot Kalra

ICC U19 Cricket World Cup - India v Papua New Guinea

The Delhi southpaw scored a scintillating hundred in the final of U-19 World Cup against Australia.

He scored 251 runs in the tournament at an average of 84. Kalra has been picked by his home-based franchise Delhi Daredevils for the eleventh edition of the IPL.

An attacking opener who likes to take the attack to the opposition right from the word go, he emulated Unmukt Chand's feat, scoring a hundred against Australia in an U-19 World Cup final by a Delhi batsman.

#1 Prithvi Shaw

The Indian skipper led from the front with the bat throughout tournament with scores of 94, 57*, 40, 41 and 29.

Shaw has been piling up runs for Mumba in the Ranji trophy as well for past couple of seasons and is on the fringes of selection. He will be the first on the selector's mind should India need a good opener in tests.

For his good performances, the player has got a 1.2 crores bid from Delhi Daredevils to play for them in IPL 2018.
