One of Umar Akmal’s most awkward moments was played out in Norway this week

He got bowled by a Pakistani-Norwegian female leg spinner, one Isma Ahmed, who has been catapulted to internet stardom in the process.

In a cricket match being played in Norway between two all-girls team during a festival organized by Pakistanis in the country, Umar Akmal played as a special guest, but is likely to remember the incident as one of his awkwardest ever.

Young Isma Ahmed produced considerable turn on the pitch with the fateful ball, as Akmal moved forward and nudged the ball onto his stumps. The former international walked back from the pitch with a wry smile, as Isma’s teammates huddled around her in a frenzy.

The takeaway from the incident for Isma Ahmed is a story that she can tell her grandchildren, but ominously for Akmal, it has the potential to be the tattering of his few remaining hopes of making a comeback into the Pakistan team.
