India is a cricket-loving nation. Well, that’s an understatement. India is a country with an unhealthy obsession for cricket – a sport which is treated like no other, the cricketers idolized like no other and a sport played like no other. Despite being a country of over a billion people and diversity in every field, other sports are like a candle to the Sun that is cricket.
And yet, there are some brave hearts who dare to dream different. Some who dare to Play Bold, without caring much about the outcome.
Almost every other kid growing up on the streets of India aspires to be the next Virat Kohli. However, some have aspirations that they know won’t have a million fans screaming their name even if they make it big in their future.
But it doesn’t matter to them. All they have is a dream—to do something different, unconventional even, from the average Indian kid. What matters to them is playing bold irrespective of the results!
Running, boxing, hooting, badminton, weightlifting… unlike cricket—where only a handful of other nations participate against each other—these young souls display a lot of courage while choosing their love.
The chances of succeeding at a sport which doesn’t play a major part in Indian culture is very little, to say the least. The infrastructure is poor, there aren’t enough mentors and, most importantly, many try to undermine the people who try to do something different.
However, they don’t care and even if the risk is high, they play bold. No matter what the consequence is, they will give it their all even if the odds are stacked against them, as it most likely is.
The will to do something different, something that they love, regardless of how unorthodox or out-of-norm it is, takes their boat across the violent waters. As the saying goes, you are sure to fail if you don’t try—and these people are the greatest exponents of the saying.
They don’t know whether they could lay their hands on gold, but that’s not in their mind anyway—for they are bold. In their veins, it is this boldness that runs along with the blood—they are, indeed, made of bold.
