In a match where Haryana’s Harshal Patel took five wickets to register an easy victory against Jammu & Kashmir by 10 wickets. Amit Mishra managed to walk away with the limelight.

In a Group B encounter of the Vijay Hazare Trophy played at the KSCA Cricket Ground at Alur on December 13, 2015, Haryana chased down a target of 76 runs with 234 remaining. Amit Mishra took the wickets Ram Dayal, Waseem Raza and bowler Rohit Sharma in three successive deliveries to complete his hat-trick. He clean-bowled Ram Dayal and Rohit Sharma while trapping Waseem Raza plumb leg-before wicket.

Amit Mishra made his ODI debut in 2003 against South Africa in Dhaka. He represented India in 22 Tests, 36 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, taking a combined total of 156 international wickets. He played his last match for India on February 1, 2017, against England in Bengaluru.

In one of the major upsets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2017, Jammu & Kashmir defeated Saurashtra by 23 runs. Captain Parvez Rasool brought his A-game and performed well with both bat and ball to help his team script a famous win. Batting first, J&K could only manage 170 runs, thanks to half-centuries from Parvez Rasool (53 runs off 48 balls) and Ram Dayal (50 runs off 75 deliveries). Defending a small total, Saurashtra was blown away by Rasool’s hat-trick which included the wickets of Chirag Jani, Jaydev Unadkat and Shaurya Sanandia.

Parvez Rasool represented India in one T20I and one ODI. Against Bangladesh in Dhaka on June 15, 2014, he played his only ODI and took two wickets in the process. Three years later he returned to the national team in a T20I at Kanpur against England. He took the wicket of captain Eoin Morgan, giving away 32 runs in his four overs. He remains the only player from Jammu & Kashmir to have represent India.
