Team India captain Virat Kohli moved up to the fifth spot after his 18th Test ton against Sri Lanka, in the latest ICC rankings released after the end of the first Test between the two sides at the Eden Gardens.

His 50th international ton ensured that Kohli went past Australia’s David Warner, moving into the top-5 after his 104-run knock that helped changed the course of the game on the final day. Kohli is the top-ranked batsman in both ODIs and T20Is.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who scored 94 in the second innings, moved two places to reach the 28th spot. Steve Smith continues to sit atop the batting rankings, while Cheteshwar Pujara maintained his status as the top-ranked Indian batsman at No.4. KL Rahul is the other Indian in the top-10, holding his place at eight.

Ajinkya Rahane suffered a four place drop and moved to the fourteenth spot.

In the bowler’s rankings, Ravindra Jadeja slipped a point to reach the third spot, while spin spearheads Ravichandran Ashwin and Rangana Herath retained their places at No.4 and 5 respectively. James Anderson continues to be the top-ranked bowler.
