Virat Kohli allegedly hurls abuses at a journalist mistaking him for someone else, apologises later

Virat Kohli in spotlight again, this time for the wrong reasons though

Indian vice-captain Virat Kohli reportedly lost his temper following a training session on Tuesday and uttered abusive words at a journalist prior to his side’s World Cup Pool B encounter against the West Indies on Friday at the WACA, Perth.

However, after realising that he had mistaken him for a reporter who had written a newspaper story about him and his actress girlfriend Anushka Sharma, Kohli conveyed his apology through one of the journalists. The incident left the reporter and some of the Indian players clueless about what was happening. Later, when Kohli opened up about it, he came to know about the error he had committed.

If NDTV reports are to be believed, team director Ravi Shastri had a word with the 26-year-old after coming to know about it asking him to not go looking for controversies, especially after being appointed as the Indian Test captain in January.

Defending champions India have been unbeaten in the World Cup so far, winning against Pakistan, South Africa and UAE with ease. West Indies, on the other hand, have won 2 of their 4 matches. They suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of South Africa in their last match and will be looking to turn things around when they meet India.
