The third and final ODI between Australia and India is currently taking place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the Indian bowlers did extremely well to deny a big total to the Aussies this time around. Yuzvendra Chahal, who is playing his first match of the series, was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up six wickets for just 42 runs in his 10 overs.
In reply, the Indians started slowly and lost both openers before the total even reached 60. Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni began to revive the innings and they put on a 54-run partnership for the third wicket.
Eventually, Kohli was dismissed in the 30th over, four runs short of his half-century. However, prior to that over, the Australian side had the chance to send Dhoni back to the pavilion. In fact, the former captain edged the ball back to the keeper but except for Glenn Maxwell, nobody seemed to notice that. Maxwell did appeal but after seeing no one else appealing, he went quiet as well. In fact, Peter Siddle too appeared to faint-heartedly appeal. But the umpire did not give it out.

It was Siddle who was bowling the 29th over and Dhoni came down the ground and swung his bat looking for a boundary once again, but hacked it over the leg side, and the ball snuck underneath the bat. However, Hotspot suggested that it took the under-edge of the bat as it went to the keeper and Snicko confirmed it as well. MS Dhoni did not walk back to the pavilion either.
Dhoni survived and he has reached his third consecutive half-century as well. He is batting alongside Kedar Jadhav as India are cruising towards the target.
Earlier, they lost the first ODI before bouncing back in the second ODI held in Adelaide to level the series.
