St. John's (Antigua), Sep 10 (IANS/CMC) West Indies wicketkeeper Devon Thomas has been discharged from hospital after a vehicular accident last Thursday.

Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association president Zorol Barthley said that the injuries were not life-threatening and Thomas should recover quickly. He had lost control of his car which went off road outside Pares village in Antigua, reports CMC.

"I was driving up the road, going at good speed. I tried to overtake and I steered away a bit too hard and I slid across the road just above Pares," Thomas said.

"The doctors say they are going to check first and then they can adjust but at the moment I can't say if I am going to be out of cricket and for how long."

Thomas has 445 runs from six First Class matches and was the top-scorer for Leeward Islands this year. He also turned out for Antigua Hawksbills in the Caribbean Premier League and last played for the West Indies in February 2013.
