#2 Deepak Chahar

Unlike Saini, Deepak Chahar is someone who has already donned the royal blue jersey of India. However, he couldn’t quite utilize the two chances he has got so far.

In the only ODI he played, he took just one wicket and conceded runs at an economy rate of over 9 runs per over. In the one T20I he featured in, he picked up a wicket but his economy rate was even worse. Subsequently, he was dropped from the side and has not been considered for a chance ever since.

But in this edition’s IPL, Chahar has redeemed himself. Picking up 22 wickets in 17 games, he was a crucial member of the Chennai Super Kings. His economy rate of just over 7 runs per over was phenomenal for a high-scoring T20 tournament. Though he might not be as fast as his predecessor in this list, if the selectors keep the current form in mind, Chahar might get a chance.
