Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong has today been stripped of his record 7 Tour De France titles, the International Cycling Union has announced.
It follows in the wake of revelations by the US Anti Doping Agency that Armstrong had doped throughout his cycling career.
UCI president Pat McQuaid announced in a press conference, “UCI will not appeal to the Court of Arbitration and recognise the sanctions USADA has imposed [on Armstrong]. UCI will back the life ban and strip him of his seven Tour de France titles.”
