The 9th edition of MTB Himalaya 2013 was a huge success. The race came to an end after 6 days of riding across the unscathed Himalayan Countryside. MTB Himalaya is regarded as the toughest race in Asia and among the top 5 MTB races across the world.
This year was a very special year as for the first time in India we had UCI ranked mountain biker – Luis Lea Pinto race in the event. The standard of riding was better than ever before and we saw some very close battles between the portuguese and the Indian Army Adventure wing.

Lea Pinto Led the race closely followed by PB Pradhan and Surender Singh of the Indian Army.The team category was dominated by the Indian Army with Shishir Man Karki and Naresh Deb Burman. The other two positions were also grabbed by the Indian Army.
The event was flagged in at Hotel Holiday Home. The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by the Honorable Cabinet Minister of IPH/IT/Horticulture Govt of Himachal Pradesh – Smt Vidya Stokes. Her words of encouragement for the participants boosted the morale of all participants. There was a sense of satisfaction, exertion, fatigue, happiness as well the sadness of parting after 6 days of camaraderie among the riders.
The 9th edition of MTB Himalaya saw one of the best cycling India has ever seen.
We hope we can deliver more such events and India can be portrayed on the world map.
