New French road race champion Arthur Vichot and his predecessor Nacer Bouhanni were on Sunday both selected for the FDJ.fr team for this year’s Tour de France which gets underway in Corsica next Saturday and runs till July 21.

Vichot, who won the road race title on Sunday, has competed in the Tour twice before, though, he is yet to emulate his father Frederic who won stages in 1984 and 1985, while it will be the first time for Bouhanni.

However, the team leader will be their compatriot Thibaut Pinot, who sparkled in last year’s race at the age of 22 winning a stage before finishing 10th overall.

Pinot, who finished fourth overall in the Tour of Switzerland earlier this month, will be aided in the mountains by Arnold Jeannesson and Tour debutant Alexandre Geniez.

The team will place its’ faith in the flat stages on both Bouhanni and sprint specialist Pierrick Fedrigo, who has won four stages in the Tour, and who is preferred to veteran and three-time stage winner Sandy Casar.

Team:

Nacer Bouhanni (FRA), William Bonnet (FRA), Murilo Fischer (BRA), Pierrick Fedrigo (FRA), Alexandre Geniez (FRA), Arnold Jeannesson (FRA), Thibaut Pinot (FRA), Jeremy Roy (FRA), Arthur Vichot (FRA)
