Kazan - Chinese diver Lin Jin retained his men’s 1-metre springboard title at the Universiade here.

Lin, who won two gold medals at the Shenzhen Universiade two years ago, continued his momentum this year as he ranked second in Sunday’s men’s 3-metre springboard and asserted his dominance again in Monday’s event.

He took first place after the second round and never looked back, collecting 429.05 points in total to claim the title. However, Lin was not satisfied with his performance.

“I had some mistakes in two dives in which I should have performed better so I felt pity though I won,” he said.

Another Chinese diver, Qin Tian, was second in 417.85 while Russia’s Evgenii Novoselov came third in 401.05.
