To most football fans, the Fifa game franchise is the greatest game ever made. Grand Theft Auto and 2K fans may disagree but there is nothing quite like scoring a goal with your favourite player in the last minute to beat your friend in Fifa.
Every year, Fifa comes out with a new game and every year we end up buying it expecting major changes, and this year is no different.
Fifa has constantly endeavoured to improve on their gameplay and Fifa 19 is expected to be the best Fifa game ever made. Unfortunately, Fifa 19 does not have a referee mode. I am waiting for the day Fifa introduces a career mode where you can be a referee or a linesman and make questionable decisions in favour of your favourite team
In this article, I mention 3 things that Fifa has introduced in Fifa 19 which you should know about.
#1 UEFA Champions League and Europa League
Fifa says that there is going to be a stand-alone UEFA Champions league mode designed to stimulate that of the real Champions League tournament. Players can compete with their desired clubs for the champions league trophy. Champions League and Europa league was something which was exclusive to PES. That has changed now as Fifa 19 finally has Champions league and Europa league in it.
Watching Ronaldo walk out of the dugout with the Champions League badge on his jersey in the official trailer excited fans. While this is not an upgrade in gameplay, it is definitely a great and much-awaited addition to Fifa.
Champions League will also be integrated into the career mode and kick off mode even more extensively. Reports suggest that even the story of Alex Hunter will have a lot of Champions League football.
To all the players who support clubs which are in the champions league and Europa League, this is a definite treat.
#2 Sweet Spot
If you tap circle or B (as per your controller) just as you are about to make contact with the ball there is a possibility that the ball will fly in the top corner. Having said that, players need to get the timing of this move right. Fifa says that if they are not good with their timing, the shot could end up in the top stand.
This could be great for long-range shots as it allows players to increase the power of their shots.
It is yet to be seen how this feature performs. It can be hit or miss quite literally.
#3 Tactics
Players can choose from settings such as, "pressure after possession loss", "constant pressure", "balanced pressure" and so on with regard to defensive tactics.
Players can also adjust the runs which fullbacks make. They can also instruct the centre-backs on the type of areas to cover. Fifa has introduced new tactics in the game which could make it really interesting for the experienced players.
Fifa has also introduced game plans which can be set up before the game. They are decisions that are made according to how the game is going. For example, you can plan to park the bus, after scoring a goal even before the game begins.
