February is almost here and there is a fresh new catalogue of games being added on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. There were tons already added in January, including popular titles such as the Resident Evil 2 remake, A new episode of Life is Strange 2, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Kingdom Hearts III.

We also saw a lot of things happening with the distribution of games on PC. Since Fortnite creators Epic Games has been offering better share to different developers (88% of sales, as opposed to Steam's 100%). Although Steam takes a higher cut, players are not fond of the oversaturation of launchers when there is already older and lesser successful ones such as Origin and Uplay. Console players are not going to need to deal with different platforms to launch a game, fortunately.

But the good news is that there are games releasing across the platforms, and they're good titles too! Here's 6 of them.

Releasing On: 15 February 2019

Available On: PC, PS4, Xbox One

Metro Exodus is a sequel to its predecessors Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. The setting is in a post-apocalyptic world where you need to rely on stealth and different survival methods. The world in the Metro series is after the world has been destroyed by nuclear war and is set in Russia.

You need to survive against mutated creatures and other hostile human beings. Players can also scavenge for materials and craft different weapons and gear. It features a rich story that takes place in a day-night cycle and even changes seasons as the story progresses.

This is a game that became a part of becoming exclusive to Epic Games. Metro Exodus withdrew from publishing from Steam for a year and is launching for a cheap price of $50 only on the Epic Games Store for PC.

#3. Civilization VI: Gathering Storm

Releasing On: 14 February 2019

Available On: PC

While this is not a new game, this is a really challenging and thrilling expansion for Sid Meier's Civilization VI. The expansion features much more realistic hurdles to the game such as natural disasters, nuclear fallout, new leaders and different types of diplomacy. The game has a lot of new layers added which make it a lot harder to achieve victories.

They have also introduced new civics and technologies that line up with our real world 21st century ones. The game is also available on iOS and Nintendo Switch, so hopefully, we get to see the expansion on those platforms as well. Gathering the Storm is the second expansion of the game. The first expansion Rise and Fall, was released on February 2018.

For those who haven't played Civilization or games like it, it does have a high learning curve but once you learn it's mechanics, there is just so much you can do in the game.

Releasing On: 15 February 2019

Available On: PC, PS4, Xbox One

Far Cry New Dawn is a spin off of 2018's Far Cry 5. It is the only Far Cry so far to get a sequel, and is based on the events of the ending of Far Cry 5. It is similar to its predecessors and features a return of the open world and FPS elements. We even saw a story trailer for it a few days ago.

The end of Far Cry 5 saw a nuclear war. As a result, the environment of Hope County, Montana has been reshaped. It is now a mix of accessible and inaccessible areas from Far Cry 5.

In New Dawn, players are able to choose the race and gender of their character. You also get the recruitment of humans and animals feature back in the game. There are many elements to the game that are similar to Far Cry 5, but there are also some nice new ones.

Published by: EA Games

Releasing On: 22 February 2019

Available On: PC, PS4, Xbox One

Anthem is probably one of the most anticipated titles this year. There has been a VIP demo already, and the game has a ton of cool features. Although EA has been notorious for withholding information and stuffing in microtransactions when they can, most are hoping Anthem lives up to its hype.

Anthem is an open world, third person shooter developed by BioWare who are famous for developing their Mass Effect and Dragon Age series. Players can choose to play solo or co-op with up to 4 players sharing the mission and story with them. There is lots of flying, superhuman abilities with unique abilities with the suits in the game. It is a role-playing game where you can establish a relationship with different non playable characters (but not a romantic one).

Here's 45 minutes of gameplay if you want to have a look.
