Each time HoYoverse introduces a new destination in Honkai Star Rail, they release several playable characters from the region. Since the current story revolves around Penacony, the developers have released a significant amount of 5-star characters that are exceptionally powerful over the past couple of updates. The units from the region mentioned above also introduced the Break Effect meta, which still dominates the end-game activities.

5) Rappa

The most recently released 5-star character from Penacony, Rappa is considered to be one of the best DPS units. Since her abilities scale with Break Effect and can easily replace Firefly in most team compositions, her value has skyrocketed right after her debut.

Similar to most Break Effect character builds, Rappa requires an extensive amount of BE stat to deal an absurd amount of damage. Since there are a decent amount of F2P units in Honkai Star Rail that can be paired with Rappa, you won’t need to pull for any characters. However, buffers such as Ruan Mei are exceptional with the BE damage dealers as she can boost their damage by a significant margin.

4) Aventurine

Value-wise, Aventurine is one of the best sustainers Trailblazers can get in this gacha title. While he follows the Preservation Path, he can launch follow-up attacks and grant his allied characters damage boosts on top of his shields. Since only a few Preservation characters in this gacha title are as useful as Aventurine, he is one of the most sought-after units. He can be paired with any FUA or hypercarry team compositions and won’t fail to show good results.

While his shields are excellent, the ability to launch follow-up attacks and damage-boosting buffs make him popular among players.

3) Acheron

In the current meta, Acheron hails on top as one of the best DPS units. This Galaxy Ranger was first released in version 2.1 as a playable unit that joined Penacony’s character roster. Judging solely by value, Acheron can prove to be quite useful for free-to-play players. If you don't pull for her signature Light Cone, there are many options you can use that are just as good.

When players have some of Acheron’s Eidolons, especially her second one, this Galaxy Ranger can be exceptionally effective in most activities.

2) Firefly

Firefly is one of the best DPS units for the BE team compositions. Debuted in Honkai Star Rail version 2.3, this Stellaron Hunter is still a go-to DPS character for most end-game activities. Due to Firefly being able to implant her element on the adversaries as a weakness type, her value as a character is far more than Rappa's.

When paired with a decently built team with Harmony MC, Ruan Mei and Lingsha/Gallagher, Firefly can easily deal colossal damage.

Among the Honkai Star Rail Penacony characters, Sunday is the best character players can get. Equipped with an exceptional kit that allows him to boost his allied character and their summon’s damage by a substantial amount, Sunday is one of the best Harmony units in the game.

Since the developers will be introducing a significant amount of Remembrance characters during the Amphoreus arc, Sunday’s chances of getting power crept are rather low.
