Bungie begins rolling out Legendary gifts in Destiny

Destiny

Bungie has started rolling out their free Legendary gifts for the holidays. Bungie had revealed earlier this week that they would be handing out free Legendary gifts in Destiny as a token of gratitude to the millions of players that have supported them. They have now announced that these gifts have now begun rolling out “by the millions”:

Players can visit the in-game Postmaster in the Tower to receive their special package which will contain a random legendary weapon unique to each user. Though as of now, many players are reportedly having trouble signing in with PSN experiencing some “heavy traffic load”, but the congestion should be cleared up in a few hours. In fact, the holiday gifts were delayed to the first week of January due to connectivity issues over at PSN and Xbox Live during Christmas week.

A few players have reported that they received their Legendary weapons already, which are mostly Legendary sniper rifles. And while some players expressed their appreciation for the free loot, many others have been whining about not receiving the weapons they wanted. Bungie had already anticipated this reaction from a few players and stated:

“Lots of Qs about the holiday gift. No Bjallarhorns. No need to decrypt, either, though we’re sure some gifts will be swiftly dismantled.”

Sadly, this is exactly what has happened with many of the Legendary weapons. But the gift is still some nice loot, especially for newcomers. The next DLC planned for Destiny titled House of Wolves will be releasing sometime in March. The game might also get another major DLC this year, but that has not been confirmed yet.
