FIFA 18: EA Sports forget to name Juventus star in the demo

Juventus FC v Genoa CFC - Serie A
Sami Khedira is certainly not a forgettable member of the Juventus squad

What's the story?

In what is a major blunder on EA's part, the newly released FIFA 18 demo features a Juventus side having a vital component of their midfield unnamed. On the latest instalment of FIFA, World Cup winning box-to-box midfielder Sami Khedira suffers the ignominy of being in the Italian champions squad named with the name "CM".

As per DreamteamFC, FIFA 18 players have posted on FIFA Reddit pages that not only does Sami Khedira have no name, he is also lacking his own player model.

In case you didn't know...

The latest instalment of the FIFA series is due to be released during the final weekend of September. In line with its usual practice, EA has duly released a demo version of the game to tease fans and get them used to the modified gameplay a couple of weeks in advance of the much-awaited release.

The demo version features teams like Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Champions League winners, Real Madrid.

The heart of the matter

Sami Khedira is a World Cup-winning midfielder who plays for one of the world's top clubs in Juventus. The Old Lady reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last season with Sami Khedira playing a crucial role. Yet, the German is represented by a vague "CM" on the game.

It is not yet clear as to how and why EA managed to get Juventus' demo squad so wrong despite knowing that the German is a regular starter.

What's next?

FIFA 18 is due to be released on the 29th September and pre-bookings for the game have opened. Cristiano Ronaldo will be the cover star for the latest FIFA installment and rated at 94, he is also the best player in the game ahead of Lionel Messi and Brazilian sensation, Neymar, both of whom are rated at 93.

Author's Take

While there could be a legitimate reason behind Sami Khedira missing out on the FIFA 18 demo version, the fact that he is named "CM" does seem to point to a blunder on EA's part. Nevertheless, with FIFA 18 due in a couple of weeks time, such blunders can be dealt with and soon forgotten as EA will surely do the needful and restore Khedira's player model and designation as is appropriate.
