Kylian Mbappe gets a boost to FIFA 18 ratings
What's the Story
PSG youngster Kylian Mbappe was listed in FIFA 18 as an 83-rated striker. However, in the latest Team of the Week list, the 18-year-old Frenchman was upgraded to 85. PSG's 5-0 win over Angers helped facilitate that score. Liverpool speedster Mohamed Salah and Barcelona’s Paco Alcacer are other players who received upgrades in the Team of the Week.
In Case You Didn't Know
Mbappe himself scored a brace in the match against Angers, and assisted Edinson Cavani in one of his goals. Julian Draxler completed the rout with a 5th goal.
The Heart of the Matter
Last year, Mbappe had a stunning breakthrough season for Monaco. He was signed for a ming-boggling £166m by the Ligue 1 giants this summer. His new card currently boasts 92 pace, 83 shooting, 80 passing and 87 dribbling. This makes him one of the most dangerous attackers in the game. His original stats read, 90 pace, 80 shooting, 74 passing and 84 dribbling. Previously, his rating on FIFA 17 was 71. This time, his rating was bumped up to a more respectable 83 in this year’s game.
The latest FIFA Team of The Week upgrades saw a number of players get rating boosts following brilliant performances in the real world. In the lead up to teammate Edinson Cavani’s goal to make it 3-0, Mbappe accellereted brilliantly to reach Adrien Rabiot’s pass from defence. He laid the ball out to a waiting Cavani, who calmly grabbed the goal.
The young Frenchman and fellow national teammates Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba are widely tipped to lead France's next gen players to success. The youngster will turn 19 in December and is full to the ears with talent and class.
Without a doubt, Kylian Mbappe thoroughly deserves the Team of the Week upgrade. We can also be certain that by the time FIFA 19 hits the shelves, he will be even closer to a 90s rating.
