Fortnite News: Epic Games to remove planes in season 8

Fortnite has been one of the top games for players and streamers for a few years now. Diving into the Battle Royale scene, Epic Games has dominated the market since debuting in July of 2017.

They've managed to stay ahead of the competition through constantly changing and innovating the product. Each season has brought players a variety of ever-changing maps and new gear, from weapons to vehicles. The latest season brought about a snowy winter wonderland when an iceberg collided into the island and introduced the X-4 Stormwing, introducing planes to the game.

This was a controversial move, however, and has divided the community somewhat. Some feel that adding aircraft may have ruined the initial fun of the game. Players have vented their frustrations in many message boards, blogs, and videos, begging for the removal of planes from Fortnite.

Well, if you're one of the players in that camp, we've got good news for you. Season 7 is finishing up pretty soon, with its final day taking place on February 28th. In four days, Season 8 will be upon us, and that means a wave of changes. One of those, thankfully, is the removal of planes.

In a recent Reddit post, one of the developers stated:

Planes will be vaulted at the start of Season 8. Get your airtime in now!

Planes have been considered overpowered in their short time in the game, so it's not exactly surprising to see Epic Games take this path.
