Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite is a survival, battle royale game which was released in 2017. The game was developed by Epic Games, an American game developer company, also responsible for developing famous and old game named Epic Pinball. Fortnite was meant to be played on Windows Operating Systems initially. However, with growing demand developer pushed its various versions for macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, and Android.

How to download Fortnite

To start playing Fortnite, one must open Epic Games official website. The next step is to download the game client named after the company. The client will automatically download the game after you sign up and make an account with your details. The game client will keep the game up to date with latest game patches and will also give access to you of the newest patch notes.


Gameplay

In Fortnite Save the World and Battle Royale game modes, players are given an axe which they use to cut down trees and other concrete or iron structures to collect their basic resources like wood, concrete bricks and metal. Players can later use these resources to build fortifications to fight incoming enemies. The material used have different levels of durability. There are different weapons used ranging from Assault rifles, snipers to SMGs and pistols. These weapons have their own damage, range and reliability.


Gaming Modes in Fortnite

Fortnite has three distinguished game modes. However, the game mechanics and in game artworks are same.


Fortnite: Save the World

Four players are matched in the same team having a common objective which they need to strategize on. A storm attacks the city where the population has been erased and zombie like “Husks” appear which the players need to kill and save in-game resources and left out survivors of the storm. Upon the completion of different missions, players are awarded in-game items.


Fortnite Battle Royale

This is the most common game mode and also the most played one. This game mode is absolutely free for users. It is a player versus player battle royale. Players can opt to play solo, team up in duos or operate in squad of four players. Players can voluntarily drop from an airbus that flies over the game map.

After landing the players search for weapons, items and resources to build or fight with other enemy players trying to survive their way to the very last. The playing field slowly shrinks by the a storm and players must be aware of where they are on the map or the storm will kill them slowly but inevitably. Paying area is circumferenced by a circle which indicates the safe zone.


Fortnite Creative

This is like a custom game where players can have fun and are completely free to create their own battle arenas race courses, platforming challenges etc.


Fortnite Battle Royale's popularity

Fortnite became a quick success, the Battle Royale version being free had a huge impact on the market and shot the number of people playing the game in an upward direction. The pace by which the game was gathering newer players every single day was off the charts. Around 125 million players were involved in the game in just one year of its release. The game was also one of the most streamed and watched games on Twitch TV.


Fortnite Esports

Fortnite recently announced that it has kept a prize pool of $100,000,000 which will be split between multiple events at different levels of competition around the world. The developers call this Fortnite World Cup 2018-19, anyone can participate in these events.
