Fortnite Update: Epic Games Reduces Small Shields Stack Size and Twitter Erupts
Epic Games, the company behind the Fortnite franchise, via the latest patch announced changes to the Small Shields max stack size. It stated that the max stack size would be reduced from ten to six.
Fortnite players were clearly not happy with the changes made to the max stack size of the small shields potion and took to Twitter to express their disappointment regarding the same. Here, we highlight some of the best reactions to Epic Games' controversial change.
This came as a surprise to most of the players as there hasn't been any community outcry concerning the stack size Small Shields. Rather, a huge majority of the Fortnite players wanted changes to the planes and Boomboxes, which surprisingly, were ignored by Epic Games.
Previously, the company behind the Fortnite franchise made changes to the Infinity Blade item after a huge community outcry. Only time will tell whether Epic Games will reverse the changes made to the Small Shields max stack size.
Furthermore, the latest update introduces a Scoped Revolver and Gliders along with the ability to use glider redeploy. Changes were also made to the dynamics of a couple of weapons.
- Added an overheating mechanic. Overheat occurs after approximately 6 seconds of continuous fire.
- Reduced the wind-up time by 37%.
- Updated the audio for the Minigun.
Projectile-based weapon adjustments
The following projectile-based weapons now have the same projectile trajectory as the Heavy Sniper Rifle:
- Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
- Suppressed Sniper Rifle
- Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle
- Hunting Rifle
A host of improvements are also made to gameplay mechanics including Ziplines and mouse/gamepad sensitivity. Like with every patch, numerous bugs were also fixed in this game.
