Any individual who has stepped into the world of gaming has heard of ‘Counter Strike’. This game can be regarded as the mother of the FPS genre. Counter Strike was the game that laid down the foundation stones for Call of Duty, Battle Field, Medal of Honor etc. Counter Strike is a game played between two teams, one being ‘Terrorists’ and the other being the ‘Counter Terrorists’. There are many maps that allow for hostage rescue, bomb planting and general kill to win modes. However, I found that they are mostly asking you to find professional players who would support you in game. Team Work is an important part but, in this presentation we shall have a look at some of the other tips that will help you send your opponents to their bloody graves.

#10 Communicate With Your Team!

Let us face the fact; most accidents in the world occur due to lack of communication. Misunderstandings occur when the two individuals do not communicate properly. A game of Counter Strike is not very different! If you do not talk to your fellow teammates, their is a very high chance that you will lose the round. Communication is important as it helps you strategize your attacks and fight as a team.

So, next time you play, press the buttons in your team that will help you say ‘Roger That!’, ‘Cover Me!’, ‘Stick Together Team!.’ If you want to talk rather that hearing your game character, you can do so using the voice chat feature in game.

The last thing any gamer wants is a small amount of lag just before you are about to shoot your opponent down! That is one thing you do not want happening! You should take care that have a proper internet connection as a small drop in frame rate could result in a shower of bullets running wildly into your head!

Another thing that i have noticed many gamers have a problem with is the mouse. Different mouses perform well under different sensitivities. Hence, it is a good practice to use a mouse that suits you. This will help reduce the added burden of trying to find the right sensitivity that is suited to your game whenever you change your mouse.

There is no harm in going online and watching the pros play. After all no matter how well we play, there is always someone who is better than us. Going online, and trying to understand the tactics adopted by the professionals will help you understand where you have gone wrong. However, I would like to warn you. Every player has his or her own style of playing the game and one must not try to blindly copy from the pros. You can watch them play and adopt a few techniques but, do not let go of your own style of play!

Flashbangs and Smoke Grenades are underestimated a lot by newbies! My advice is, use them, they might look small but they are invaluable. Just imagine, your opponent cannot see you, but you have clear vision of him! That is the kind of advantage i am talking about!

Counter Strike is a team game. Every player has a definite role to play in game. The players can adopt the role of a sniper, lurker, secondary sniper, the fragger and the supporter. Every single role is important and a team will not be able to function efficiently without them.

So, gamers, you would need to look into this, figure out what you are good at. If you prefer camping and taking out your opponents while remaining unseen, go sniper! If you are a big fan of Rambo, then lurker or a fragger should do the job!

One of the most important aspects of the game is to learn how to use the weapon of your choice. Experts usually go spray at close range, tap at medium range and tap slower at long range technique. All this while moving around so that you do not get shot!

Playing an unknown map is like walking into a city you have never been to before. You must know your maps! This will allow you to analyze the best possible strategy to take down opponents. Every map has spots perfect for hiding and taking out your enemy unawares.

#2 Go For The Head

No point is shooting your enemies legs and arms I always say! Just take his head off! It is quick, easy and painless. You must try to perfect your aim! One or two bullets is all that it takes to pop your opponent’s head.

If he does not die with a single headshot, he is bound to die with the next one. However, do not worry, one headshot does the required damage, as you opponent will lose his aim the minute you hit his head. Here is a video that will provide some insight into headshots.

This is one of the hardest techniques to master in Counter Strike. ‘Bunny Hopping’ gives you the ability to move around the map at alarming speeds. The best part is that ‘Bunny Hopping’ is legal and can be perfected with a lot of practice.

Believe me, this will change your game and your opponents will respect you if you master this technique. It involves jumping, strafe movement and jumping again.
