There are several newly added enemies and bosses in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom that are not challenging to combat but are also the best means of acquiring rare weapons and resources in the game. One such monster that shows up in a boss fight is the Frox, an amphibious creature and one of the most challenging in-game bosses.

The Frox only appear in dimly lit zones of the Depths, where the creatures are usually found slumbering in the dark, awaiting any unknowing prey to step into its domain. Much like the Hinox enemy types found across Hyrule, the Frox are massive enemies that only attack when you either trespass on their territory or wake them up from their deep slumber.

Here's a comprehensive guide on defeating the Frox in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

The Frox is a massive creature, about the same height as the Battle Talus enemies in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Fortunately, the boss isn't accompanied by Bokoblins or other enemy types when you battle it. Being one of the toughest enemies in the game, the Frox has a massive health bar, which takes some time to whittle down to size.

Being a massive creature, the Frox isn't agile, and most of its attacks are quite slow and have a good telegraph, helping you easily avoid them with a well-timed dodge. However, if you fail to dodge at the right time or get out of the way of any of its attacks, you will take a lot of damage. The Frox is also very resistant to damage unless you target its weak points.

The best strategy against the Frox is to avoid its direct melee attacks and deal damage using your bow to the crystals on its back, which are the creature's weak points. You can also target its eyes to momentarily stun the boss, giving you time to reposition yourself and attack the crystals on its back. The Frox especially takes high damage from electric and fire arrows.

You can stock up on elemental arrows at the Kara Kara Bazaar in Gerudo Town if you're running out of ammunition. It is also advised to come prepared with a lot of food and recipes when you first go up against the Frox to keep your health topped up in case you take damage.
