Initial Stretch Goals smashed by Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter

Shadow Run: Hong Kong

They are back with their new Kickstarter Campaign. Harebrained Schemes are now up for a brand new cyberpunk RPG, Shadowrun: Hong Kong. After their success with the previous Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Directors Cut, the first being funded on Kickstarter back in 2012, the Studio recently launched their third crowd funding campaign, Shadowrun: Hong Kong and as the name suggests, it has moved the franchise to a new location.

Hong Kong was actually chosen by fans of the previous games, in a poll that the developers launched, shifting the setting to the East from the previous settings of Berlin and Seattle. Now with that, let's add on some more interesting points about this Kickstarter Campaign. Harebrained Schemes have confirmed that they have the funds to make the game.

But, they have turned to the crowd funding website to gain some additional money to subsidize improved features, new characters and bonus missions. This has proved a great way to use extra funding for content of the game that is already in the making. This seems to be a safer way for gamers to interact with Kickstarter.

The first eight stretch goals of content are already smashed with numerous side missions, enhanced features, and two new crew members. Asking for an initial funding goal of $100,000 the campaign is off to an incredible start, at the time of posting, $500,000 already pledged. As the campaign still has 31 days to go, plenty more content will be unlocked. Expanded magic is the next goal to reach with more side missions and revamped features, which is also offered as future stretch goals.
