Manchester City have completed their fourth signing of the summer

Manchester City has completed its fourth signing for the summer and it comes in the form of eSports player Keiran “Kez” Brown. This accompanies the club's announcement that they will be moving into eSports with a particular focus on EA Sports FIFA.

Keiran Brown is an 18-year old FIFA fanatic who hails from York and with the completion of this deal, becomes the first player in the history of the club to represent the Blues in tournaments as well as fan FIFA events.

Brown, himself, seemed to be excited at the prospect of working together with the Premier League giants. This is certainly a big step forward for the club. Talking about his feelings on joining the Manchester City team, Keiran said, “It’s exciting; it’s something new for the Club and it’s something new for me.”

By the looks of it, the managing board of Manchester City share the teenager's excitement and are pleased with the inclusion of this talented youngster into their squad.

Diego Gigliani, SVP, Media and Innovation, City Football Marketing, added: “This is a natural evolution for Manchester City. We’ve been very involved with our partner, EA SPORTS, and the FIFA franchise for some time.”

Gigliani also spoke about the requirements that the Club was looking for in a potential candidate for the job. He said that the player must be young, talented and with a hunger to learn and to continue improving under the tutelage of the club; qualities he believes he has found in the 18-year old.

In an official statement released by the club, Gigliani also talked about the ventures that City Sports and EA Sports were looking to go into together in the future. “As eSports continues to gain momentum, it makes sense for our Club to be part of the action and get closer to our fans, who love playing EA SPORTS FIFA as Manchester City. We will be a bigger presence at gaming tournaments, we will have more content through our digital channels and we will activate even more with our fans at matches and Club events,” he said.

Keiran, it seems, also has big plans on how to start his work with the club and he made some of his tactics public. He will certainly be looking to implement a live stream of his gameplay in addition to posting videos on the official Manchester City YouTube channel. “I’m going to be playing some City fans and representing City in future tournaments, which I’m looking forward to. This is an opportunity which not many people get the chance to do and I couldn’t turn it down,” he added.
